Diclofenac diethylammonium.
Description
Each 100 g contains: Diclofenac diethylammonium eq. to Diclofenac sodium 1 g (1% w/w).
Action
UNIREN Gel is an anti-inflammatory and analgesic preparation for topical application. The clear, transparent, non-greasy preparation is easy to rub into the skin, and its aqueous-alcohol base gives it a soothing and cooling effect. Diclofenac has been shown in experiments to inhibit prostaglandin biosynthesis, and this is regarded as an important factor in its mechanism of action. In the inflammation of traumatic or rheumatic origin, UNIREN Gel has been shown to relieve pain, reduce edema, and shorten the time of return to normal function.
Indications/Uses
Treatment of: localized forms of soft-tissue rheumatism, e.g. tendovaginitis, shoulder-hand syndrome, bursitis, and periarthropathy; localized rheumatic diseases, e.g. osteoarthritis of the spine and peripheral joints; post-traumatic inflammation of the tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints, e.g. due to sprains, strains, or bruises.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Depending on the size of the painful area to be treated, 2-4 g UNIREN Gel should be applied 3-4 times daily to the affected sites and gently rubbed in. The duration of treatment depends on the indication and the patient's response. It is advisable to review the treatment after two weeks.
UNIREN Gel can also be used as an adjunct with UNIREN Tablets for better effect.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Diclofenac, Acetylsalicylic acid and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents.
